How Human Horse Races Came to be

The idea for Human Horse Races came to Ingrid in 2014, inspired by her many Thanksgivings spent at the racetrack with her buddies. After meeting some new vegetarian friends who were uncomfortable with traditional horse racing, she had a lightbulb moment:

Why not create a fun, inclusive event where humans play the role of horses, raising money to help real horses instead of using them for entertainment?

The concept took shape in 2014, but it wasn’t until 2019 when she brought her vision to life. Over the past 5 years, each year the audience has doubled in size.
